The bus is packed and the boys are on their way across the Tarheel State. After a commanding 4-1 win in their NPSL opener over Port City FC, Appalachian FC look to remain perfect as they take on Greenville United tonight at 6:00 pm.
The boys from Boone come into the match sitting pretty in first place in the Southeast Conference while their opponent struggled in match week one and found themselves in fifth place. Greenville United managed a draw in their previous match against Burlington United. Looking at the table, Appalachian has a goal difference of plus three after their 4-1 win and Greenville comes into the match with an even goal difference after their match against Burlington ended in a 0-0 draw. Because it’s so early in the season, you can’t take too much from the table but for what it’s worth, App FC is averaging three points per game while Greenville is averaging one point per game.
What will match week two tell us? Will Appalachian FC continue this hot form or will Greenville United break through and find their first goal of the season? If you can’t make it to the game, you can follow along with the livestream on the Appalachian FC Facebook page.
