Momentum Shifts and Late Drama as Brute Force Survive a Dynamo Storm
Sunday morning in Dunwoody delivered a gritty, high-stakes brawl as two of the league’s hungriest sides collided in the second match at Brook Run. Dekalb Dynamo and Brute Force traded blows in a match that had everything: early fireworks, defensive heroics, second-half carnage, and a late dagger that tipped the scale in Brute Force’s favor.
First Half: Fire and Flow
Dynamo set the tone early, charging out of the gate with an aggressive high press. Within minutes, forward Grant Polk, a livewire presence all match, took advantage of a defensive lapse and coolly opened the scoring. The early goal rattled Brute Force, who struggled to connect passes in midfield and looked shaky in transition.

But Brute Force found their footing off a corner kick midway through the half. A strong delivery met a clinical finish, leveling the scoreline and flipping the momentum. From there, the midfield opened up for them. They began dictating tempo and pushing Dynamo into wide, less threatening areas.
Shortly before halftime, a dangerous foul just outside the box gave Brute Force a chance from around 28 yards out. They did not waste it. A blistering free kick flew past the wall and into the net to give them a 2 to 1 lead at the break
Second Half: Tension and Heart
Coming out of halftime, Dynamo looked urgent but scattered. They bypassed midfield too often, searching for direct paths through a compact Brute Force defense. It was not until a moment of chaos in the box that they found the equalizer. A loose ball fell perfectly to a supporting runner, who chipped it over the scrambling keeper. Two all.
What followed was a war of attrition. Fouls started to mount. Bodies flew. Julian Henri Squire, Dynamo’s commanding center back, anchored the back line with no-nonsense defending and relentless physicality. On the other end, Abderrahmane Ennajy stepped up for Brute Force, organizing the defense with calm authority and smart positioning that kept Dynamo’s final balls at bay.
Chances came in waves. Polk nearly leveled things again with a fearless diving header, but the Brute Force keeper answered with a full-stretch save that kept the match alive.
And then came heartbreak. With just minutes left, Brute Force broke free on the counter. A slicing through ball split the back line, and the attacker finished low and clean to the far post. 3 to 2.
A Statement Match in a Stacked Summer
Brute Force’s win keeps them firmly in the mix as one of the most dangerous sides in the league. They have proven capable of weathering pressure and punishing mistakes. For Dynamo, it is another example of a talented squad that pushes every opponent to the brink but is still searching for consistent finishing. The ADASL Summer League has been full of fireworks, and this match was a clear reminder of how deep the quality runs this season.
