Chattanooga FC have added two further names to their roster for the upcoming 2025 Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) season.
Billie Jean Davies returns for a second season. The English defender started seven of CFC’s eight games in 2024, providing an assist in the season opener against Nashville Rhythm. She also made 20 appearances for West Virginia State University last year, contributing seven assists, as the Yellow Jackets captured their first-ever Mountain East Conference tournament title and their second NCAA tournament appearance.
Head Coach Juan Hernandez said "We are so glad to have Billie Jean back with us after a stellar, championship-winning season at WVSU. Her exceptional left foot, combined with her precision on corners and free-kicks, made her a huge asset — and that’s just one part of what she brings to the pitch. We’re looking forward to seeing her back in blue and making an impact once again."
The club has also announced the signing of Japanese player Kei Yoneda. The Osaka-born midfielder spent the 2024/2025 season with Arizona Western College, playing in all 20 matches, helping the Matadors advance all the way to the 2024 NJCAA Division I national championship.
"Kei is an exciting addition to the Sky Blues," said Chattanooga FC Women Associate Head Coach Maryn Beutler. "We are thrilled to add a technically savvy central player to our roster who will impact the game at many levels. Her tactical knowledge of the game and technical execution sets her apart from most. Kei has a strong passion and determination to develop and excel in top environments."
The club will host tryouts for its WPSL side on May 10. CFC’s season kicks off on May 23 when it takes on the UFA Gunners at Finley Stadium at 7pm. You can read the Southeast Soccer Report’s Season Preview for Chattanooga’s WPSL campaign HERE.
