Midfielder joins from D.C. United in MLS
Chattanooga Football Club CFC has announced the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Gavin Turner on loan for the remainder of 2025.
Turner comes to the Scenic City from MLS’s D.C. United, where he signed as a homegrown player in February of this year through 2027 with options for 2028 and 2029. A US youth international, Turner has been a part of the Black-and-Red organization since 2017, when he joined the club’s U12 academy team.
The Virginia native made his professional debut with USL Championship side Loudoun United FC (an affiliate of D.C. United) in 2022 against New York Red Bulls II, when he came on as an 89th-minute substitute in a 1-0 win. Turner recorded his first career assist in a 2-1 win against Orange County SC in the Fourth Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in May 2024. In 18 total appearances (three starts), he accumulated 508 minutes over two seasons with Loudoun United (2022 and 2024).
Turner made his debut with his parent club on June 7th of this year, when he came on as a substitute against Chicago Fire, notching 28 minutes and creating one attacking chance. Internationally, he has represented the United States at U-15 and U-16 levels, scoring once in five matches.
Turner will wear the number 48 jersey at Chattanooga FC, joining a side that is currently ranked second in the Eastern Conference, with 30 total points in the MLS Next Pro. Chattanooga’s next match is against Chicago Fire FC II on July 5, 2025, at Finley Stadium.
