Fountain City FC (Columbus, GA) travel north this evening to face off against Kalonji Pro Profile (Snellville, GA) in UPSL Georgia Premier action. Kickoff is at 7:30 EST at Shiloh High School.
It will be a tough task for Fountain City, as in their season and home opener on March 8, they were hammered 5-0 by Premier Division contenders North Georgia United. Their opponent this week is the defending Georgia Premier Division Champions, and they opened their season with a 7-1 win over Georgia Athletic SC.
A win by Fountain City would see the club vault up to 8th in the 14-team table, while a win by Kalonji would see them vault to 1st or 2nd depending on the goal differential. If Fountain City lose, they’d quickly enter an early-season relegation battle with Soccer Saves Lives FC and rivals FC Columbus Elite (who share Fountain City’s home, Odis Spencer Stadium).
