After picking up a road win at Atlanta United 2 last week, Huntsville City FC return home to take on another reserve side, this time Crown Legacy FC at Joe Davis Stadium.
Last time these clubs met on April 13th, Huntsville claimed the extra point after a shootout victory on the road following a 1-1 draw courtesy of goals from Christian Koffi and Jamie Smith respectively.
Huntsville currently sit in third in the East with 22 points from 12 games played, while Crown Legacy sit in 11th, having collected just 15 from 12.
Let’s take a look.
Match Details
Date: Friday, June 20th, 2025
Location: Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium, Huntsville, Alabama
Time: 7:00PM CST (local)
Head Coaches: Chris O’Neal (HNT), Gary Dicker (CRL)
Lineup Prediction
Erik Lauta starts in goal, ahead of a back four that is unchanged from the win at Atlanta, featuring Gabi Alonso, Zach Barrett, Kevin Carmichael and Blake Bowen. I thought Alonso was really impressive against Atlanta and has earned a first home start.
The midfield here is Moises Véliz and Phillip Mayaka, though a bunch of different players could go here. I’ve gone Véliz and Mayaka because they’ve been picked a bunch as of late, and Chris O’Neal seems to follow trends in his lineups.
The front four is Christian Koffi, Alan Carleton, Damien Barker John, and Gunnar Studenhofft. I almost want to say I expect Ethan O’Brien to be in over one of Mayaka or Carleton, but I have no clue which, so he’s not “in the lineup” over either.
Analysis & Prediction
Huntsville got the better of Crown Legacy last time they played, and Crown Legacy enters this one having lost each of their last three games by a combined score of 9-2. Furthermore, they have just one road win all year, and that was over Carolina Core who sit just one spot above them in 10th in the East.
This feels like a comfortable Huntsville win to me, give me the Rocket Men 3-1, with goals from Studenhofft, Koffi and Barrett.
