After weather issues forced a postponement last weekend, Huntsville City FC is finally back on the field, this time on the road to take on conference leading New York Red Bulls II.
The Rocket Men currently sit in sixth in the East, though they do hold at least one game in hand over all five clubs in front of them.
Let’s dive in.
Match Details
Date: Sunday, July 6th, 2025
Time: 7:00PM EST (local), 6:00PM CST (Huntsville)
Location: MSU Soccer Park at Pittser Field, Montclair, New Jersey
Watch: MLS Season Pass on Apple TV+
Head Coaches: Chris O’Neal (HNT), Michael Bradley (RBNY)
Lineup Prediction
There’s a couple changes after the week off, most notably, Xavier Valdez returns in goal after his stint with the Dominican Republic at the Gold Cup.
In front of him, Tyshawn Rose takes the right back spot, and Zach Barrett takes the captaincy from suspended Blake Bowen, alongside Kevin Carmichael, and Isaiah Jones, who is filling in at Bowen’s spot on the field.
I’ve got Moises Véliz and Philip Mayaka retaining their places in midfield, though Ethan O’Brien could feature here as well. The front four, for me, should be Christian Koffi, Alan Carleton, Damien Barker John and Gunnar Studenhofft.
Analysis & Prediction
This one is hard to read. Huntsville had an unexpected week off, they’re on the road, and they’re facing a team with a new head coach in Michael Bradley. Bradley did pick up a win in his first game in charge, but he’s still new to the job.
Red Bull has been very good this year, and Huntsville has looked a bit underwhelming in recent weeks. However, they do have enough talent to overcome this on their day. Is this their day?
I’m not convinced. Give me a 2-1 Red Bull victory, with Huntsville’s goal coming from Christian Koffi.
