A busy month of May is rounding to a close for Nashville SC, but one final road trip to face the Columbus Crew, the Boys in Gold’s third in seven days, stands between Nashville and one final home game before a breather.
Nashville currently sits third in the East on 27 points, though level with Orlando in 4th and this very Columbus side in fifth. Last year in this fixture, Columbus cruised to a 2-0 win at home in front of the Nordecke.
Let’s take a look.

Lineup Prediction
With just two games left before a full week off, I’m not expecting much if any rotation here. Joe Willis will remain in goal, with Dan Lovitz, Jack Maher, Jeisson Palacios and Andy Najar in front of him.
Walker Zimmerman made his return at the weekend, but is still not ready to start. Maybe the next one, who knows.
In midfield, it’ll be Eddi Tagseth and Patrick Yazbek supporting a front four of Alex Muyl, Hany Mukhtar, Jacob Shaffelburg, and Sam Surridge, who bagged a brace against Toronto.
Analysis & Prediction
This is a big last couple games before a break for the Boys in Gold. Columbus and New York City, their next two opponents, are in fifth and sixth currently. Nashville has been incredibly impressive on the road of late, winning on the road back to back in Orlando and Toronto. However, winning three games on the road in seven days? In the hardest league in the world to win road games in? Seems unlikely to me.
Even with injuries to incredibly important players for Columbus like Patrick Schulte and Sean Zawadski, I’d rather be wrong not counting on something that’s incredibly difficult to do.
Give me a 1-1 draw, with the visitors’ goal coming from Hany Mukhtar.
