After another week off, Nashville SC are again ready to hit the road and hit the pitch. This time, duty calls in Foxborough as New England Revolution await the Boys in Gold.
Last time these clubs met, it was the opening day of the 2025 MLS season, and the fixture ended 0-0, though not without excitement. Since that Opening Day meeting, the clubs have trended in different directions. After starting the year on horrific pace, the Revs pulled four league wins from five ending on May 3rd, but have stalled a bit since.
Since that game on May 3rd, the Revs have played six league fixtures, winning one, losing one, and drawing each of the other four. This is good enough for Caleb Porter’s side to sit 11th in the East, two points under the playoff line at present.
Nashville meanwhile only trended up from here. They currently sit on an 11-match unbeaten streak in all competitions, currently sitting third in the East on 32 points.
Let’s take a closer look.

Lineup Prediction
Not expecting much in the way of changes to the side that defeated Chicago last time out, but a few key ones to note.
Joe Willis remains in goal, ahead of a backline with one of those changes, that being Andy Najar’s return to the starting lineup alongside Jeisson Palacios, Dan Lovitz, and Jack Maher.
Eddi Tagseth also sees the return of Patrick Yazbek to the 11 as his partner in the midfield. They’ll supply a front four of Alex Muyl, Hany Mukhtar, Sam Surridge and Jonathan Pérez, who is the third change.
Ahmed Qasem could also see another start, but Pérez seems to be the hot hand at the moment, so I’m inclined to believe he’ll get a shot here.
Analysis & Prediction
I’ll get the big one out of the way here early, my gut is telling me this is another 0-0. Let me explain why.
Historically, for what that’s worth, Nashville have scored exactly one goal at Gillette Stadium, that being Sam Surridge’s leveler in Leagues Cup last year, that knocked the Boys in Gold out of the tournament in the group stage.
Other than that? Not a single soul in Gold has found the net in New England. It’s a long flight, and it’s on turf. Two things that typically make things difficult for visitors to adjust.
However, if there’s a Nashville team to prove me wrong, it’s this 2025 edition. They’ve scored twice on turf this season, at Charlotte and Atlanta respectively, so it’s not as if the playing surface totally nullifies the attack.
That being said, Nashville started a bit flat against Chicago after that long layoff, and were a bit fortunate to not concede in the first half. They grew into the game in the second half, but perhaps a more clinical team takes those chances.
Could New England be that team? Carles Gil is always dangerous, so who knows. However, New England are still just 22nd in MLS in goals per match at 1.2, while Nashville are up in 7th at 1.8.
This is all to say that this is a hard game to read, which tends to produce fairly unremarkable results. I guess we’ll find out the hard way!
