Spokane comes to town
Texoma faces one of their toughest challenges as they host the Spokane Velocity on Saturday, SEP. 13 in Sherman, Texas. Spokane is 2nd in USL1 and has won 4 out of their last 5 games, the only blemish being a loss to One Knoxville SC. Texoma, on the contrary, has had an extraordinarily hard time as of late. They’ve only won 1 of their last 5 and are coming out of a 5-0 loss to Union Omaha.
Texoma need a winning result if they plan to continue competing for a playoff spot. At this point, they've fallen to 10th place, and even though they are just 2 points off from Omaha (8th; 27 PTS), they have a staggering goal differential sitting at -15. Its definitely not impossible for them to come back from such a deficit, but it would be a monumental feat.
Id expect a 4-4-2 or a 3-4-3 from Spokane for this game, classic for formations that aren't too fancy but would make it hard for Texoma to get many good looks. I expect Texoma to play 4-2-3-1, it’s a formation Texoma has taken a liking to. It’s not a formation they've seen great success with, but it’s one they are comfortable with.
Again as it stands, Texona needs a good result here to have a chance at staying in playoff contention.
