Concacaf announced this afternoon that the first-round match Tuesday between Inter Miami and Sporting KC will be postponed 24 hours because of expected snowfall and record low temperatures.

Weather forecasters are predicting several inches of snow and temperatures in the single-digits Fahrenheit — with wind chills plummeting as low as -17 — in the Kansas City area Tuesday, prompting organizers to reschedule the first-round Concacaf Champions Cup match between Inter Miami and Sporting KC from 8 p.m. EST Tuesday at Children’s Mercy Park to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
A news release from Concacaf said the change was made “to prioritize player and fan safety, and in close coordination with the two participating clubs and the local authorities.”
All previously purchased tickets for the match, originally scheduled for Tuesday, will remain valid for entry on Wednesday.
