Kelly named WPSL Atlantic Conference Carolina Division Offensive Player of the Year
Lauren Kelly from Soda City FC was recently named the WPSL Atlantic Conference Carolina Division Offensive Player of the Year for 2025. The Winthrop University forward brings home the first major award for this Columbia, SC WPSL expansion franchise.
Triumph earn a 2-2 draw on the road at Tormenta
Just when it looked like Greenville would claim all three points in their USL1 Peach States Derby match in Statesboro, Tormenta goalkeeper Austin Pack came forward in the final seconds of the match to convert a corner kick via a header to split the points. The dramatic finish from Pack in the 11th minute of second-half stoppage time cancelled out the brace from Greenville’s Rodrigo Robles that had put the visitors in the lead late in the match. Greenville travel to play at the Independence this Saturday night in Charlotte.
Battery travel to Kentucky for top-of-the-table showdown
Saturday night is the mid-season USLC game of the season as the Battery travel to play Louisville City FC in a top-of-the-table clash in the USL Championship. Both teams enter the match with 41 points as Charleston has scored the most goals (38) in USLC this season while Louisville has allowed the fewest goals (14) this season in the USLC.
Battery Assistant Devin Rensing named Lights Head Coach
Charleston Battery Assistant Coach Devin Rensing is moving west to take the helm at the Las Vegas Lights in the USL Championship. Rensing has been on the Battery staff since 2023 and will look to rebuild the last-place (12th place) Lights into a contender out west.
