UPSL Division 1 Mid-Atlantic Final in Anderson this Saturday
Electric City FC will host the final this Saturday at Old McCants Stadium in Anderson as Wake Futbol Club visits for a 4:30 PM kickoff. This exact matchup didn’t happen during the regular season as Wake had travel issues and was forced to forfeit the scheduled match this Spring. The playoff match up features Electric with a 10W-1L-0T record scoring 48 goals hosting Wake with a 8W-1L-1T record scoring 33 goals for the Spring crown.
Battery back at home after successful trip to the desert
The Charleston Battery will host Miami FC at 7:30 PM this Saturday at the Point after a successful trip to New Mexico where they claimed all three points in a 2-1 result to climb to the top of the USL C table. Miami is in 9th place in the East sitting a full 20 points behind the first-place Battery on 18 points. Houssou Landry picked up USLC Team of the Week honors as he patrolled the midfield versus his former club in the desert…his wondergoal a few weeks ago from the midfield line versus Rising has to be considered for USLC Goal of the Year…ESPN SportsCenter had it No. 1 in their Top Ten.
Triumph play host to Kickers on Sunday
After a first-ever meeting with Portland Hearts of Pine in the mid-week resulting in a 1-3 loss, the Triumph return home to host the Richmond Kickers in a 7 PM match Sunday evening. Greenville and their two opponents this week all entered this match week sitting on 16 points all three hovering just below the mid-table line in the USL One standings.
Soda City UPSL Women on the road in Playoffs
The Soda City UPSL women defeated Boiling Springs 1-0 last weekend to advance to play this weekend in Virginia at Rush United in the Mid-Atlantic championship. Kickoff is se for 4 PM on Sunday. Rush won both regular season meetings and Soda will look to pull the upset on the road this weekend.
Community Day for Palmetto Athletic FC
Go ahead and mark your calendars for this free afternoon of soccer in the Upstate as Palmetto Athletic FC hosts a Community Day at Legacy Early College on August 9. Mountains to the Sea FC from North Carolina will be the opponent. Kickoff is set for 3 PM.
