Two UPSL titles, Battery keep rolling, Triumph with huge USL Cup match just ahead, UPSL fall tryouts

Electric City and the Soda City Women won UPSL titles this past weekend as both teams rolled to huge blowout wins.

On Saturday, Electric City followed up their regular season title by winning the USPL D1 Mid-Atlantic promotion playoff with a 5-1 rout over Wake FC in Anderson.

On Sunday, the Soda City UPSL Women defeated Rush FC in Virginia in a season-high goal barrage in a 4-0 victory to win the spring playoff title.

The Battery crushed Miami FC by a 3-0 score line to increase their lead at the top of the USL Championship table over second-place Louisville City. A quartet of Battery players earned USLC Team of the Week 20 honors as Arturo Rodriguez, Joey Akpunonu, Cal Jennings, and Aaron Molloy were all named to the squad. The Battery host the Tampa Bay Rowdies in their final USL Cup Group stage match on Saturday at 7:30 PM.

The Greenville Triumph will host Naples FC on Saturday night in the USL Cup with their sights set on finishing top of the Group F standings and earning a spot in the knock-out stage. The Triumph clinch the top spot with a win and then a Rowdies loss at the Battery. The Triumph defeated Richmond 2-0 last weekend at home in regular season action as the team stays in 9^th place in the table. The team is finding goals at the right time and have picked up some much-needed points over their last few weeks of play.
