Pensacola FC continues player announcements
Last week, Southeast Soccer Report published a story introducing the first 12 Pensacola FC men’s team signings for 2025. This post looks at the Pelicans’ most recently announced players.
PFC Pelicans begin training today for Saturday’s season opener
Pensacola FC’s senior men’s team was expected to hold its first training session Monday at Ashton Brosnaham Stadium, just days before traveling to Leesburg, Ga., to play Sowegans SC in its first match in The League for Clubs’ Gulf Coast Conference.
“Although not ideal, we will have four days with a group to get prepared for the first away game,” PFC coach Dean Logan said last week.
The club has been in communication with players, many of whom are still finishing high school and college classes, Logan said. He added that the players are “all-in” and understand the team’s goals and objectives, which includes winning its conference and The League for Clubs’ playoffs with the ultimate ambition being to qualify for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the oldest and one of the most prestigious competitions in the United States.
“It’s just a matter of executing on game day,” he said.
PFC’s social media team is continuing to introduce the club’s senior men’s, academy men’s, senior women’s, and academy women’s 2025 rosters on Facebook (Pensacola FC) and Instagram (@PensacolaFC) with less than a week before the season’s first matches.
Logan explained that PFC’s senior teams will be comprised by more experienced players, while the academy teams give players an opportunity “to get their feet wet and show their talents in a competitive environment.”
The senior Pelicans will kick off at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at the Lee County Sports Complex.
Pensacola’s senior women start their season with a Women’s Premier Soccer League match against Tallahassee Rising at 7 p.m. Friday at Ashton Brosnaham Stadium.
The Academy men will host AFC Mobile at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Ashton-Brosnaham, and the Academy women host Gulf Coast United from Gulfport, Miss., at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17.
