Revs Complete Comeback In Win Over UMA FC
Georgia Revolution FC earns their first win of the 2025 Spring Season in a dramatic 4-2 win over the Alabama-based UMA FC.

McDonough, March 24, 2025 — Georgia Revolution FC saw a tremendous comeback completed on Saturday in their 4-2 home win over UMA FC. The Revs opened the scoring with a goal in the 16th minute of the game by Gustavo Atencio after showcasing the high press and cohesiveness of the Revs’ lineup. This vigor halted before giving up a tying goal in the 28th minute following a defensive breakdown. Though it seemed like the momentum of the first half was swinging in the direction of the Revs, the start of the second half was not close to reflecting that reality.
In the second half of the game, the Revs saw a tightly contested opening 10 minutes which saw a penalty spotted in the box for UMA FC following a defensive foul by defender Thiago Kittelmann. After the UMA player slotted home the penalty from the spot, the Revs tried to resume the high press and creativity shown in the first half. However, they were unable to convert on their chances until the 73rd minute when forward Alain Skerritt showcased incredible individual skill on the tying goal to bring the game level once more. The wave of attacking possession didn’t end there for the Revs who found new life following several important substitutions late in the second half including forward Martin Saucedo, midfielder Tomas Diduck, and forward Dominic Nwokocha who sparked a turnaround.
Following these key substitutes, a surging counterattack by forwards Alain Skerritt and Micah Schneider saw a beautifully placed ball into the middle of the box that deflected off the crossbar and into the path of Gustavo Atencio for his second goal of the game in the 82nd minute of the match. This moment completed the comeback following a two-goal deficit to get all three points out of this game for the Revs who had been sliding down the standings going into Week 4 of the season.
The final nail in the coffin for the UMA FC side was following a mistaken free kick by Tomas Diduck which deflected off the wall of defenders into the path of OQuinn Robinson who rocketed the ball into the upper netting of the goal. The Revs now hold a 1-0-2 record going into Week 5 of the UPSL Georgia Premier Division Spring season after two draws to open the season and a postponement due to inclement weather in Week 4.
“The team showed a lot of grit and character to fight back after going down 2-1. We showed we have the depth and quality to change the outcome of a match. It was great to come away with all three points and set our standard in the last 20 minutes. We’re looking forward to getting back to work this coming week,” manager Alec Morrison said of his side following the 4-2 win against UMA FC at Old Warhawk Stadium.
Milestones:
Newcomers Lucas Gomes & Dominic Nwokocha both made their debuts for the Georgia Revolution FC as Gomes started the match but left early due to injury. Nwokocha was later was substituted into the game in the second half.

Poku is most famous for his career in the MLS & USL including the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Miami FC, New York City FC, and the Atlanta Silverbacks.
