River City rolls to 5-0 win over Boiling Springs II
River earns all 3 points and continues their push towards the playoffs
It was a dominant 5-0 win for River City FC over Boiling Springs United II in UPSL Mid-Atlantic First Division action Saturday afternoon in Irmo.
The win for River (5W-3L-1T) keeps them in a tie for second place and on-pace for a UPSL playoff berth in this successful return to the UPSL league this fall 2025 season. The top four teams earn a playoff berth.
Ryan K Wahome opened the scoring for River in the 19th minute making a late run from the midfield to loop the ball past the frozen Boiling II keeper for the 1-0 advantage.
Defender Aden L Brown was next on the scoresheet as he converted a corner kick in the 41st minute to put the hosts up 2-0 late in the first half. Wahome wasn’t finished with the River scoring in the first half as he stole the ball off a Boiling defender and then drove into the box to drive the ball into the near post and River into a 3-0 lead at the halftime break.
Luis E Reyes Lopez added a brace of his own scoring in both the 65th and 70th minutes as he slotted the ball low both times into the nets after River pressure had won the ball near the Boiling goal and quick passes found Lopez wide-open for the neat finishes.
Alan C. Figueroa played all 90 minutes in the River goal earning the shutout.
River will conclude the regular season on December 3 in an away match against Mint Hill II at the OrthoCarolina Sportsplex in Pineville, NC.
