It's astounding that the players can't control their emotions when their career in the U.S. depends on making the best of a bad situation. I mean, seems "career suicidal" for any player to be arguing with the CEO and who is also Chief Soccer Officer.....?!

Dan makes a good point about it not being usual, and what else I would add in to contextualise it is that Jay Heaps is an incredibly loud/emotional/outspoken person, so most people would find it hard to keep their cool when he comes at them like he did with Shashoua. Still not a good look for Sam, but it's not all on him.

Most of the assistant referees in the league would agree with that assessment of Heaps.

The truth is that players aren't doing an appreciation after games (generally). Players on loan have an especially hard time getting into that groove. So, it's a new thing for Shashoua, and Heaps is adamant about it. I talked to Shashoua after that, and he was very gracious. Fwiw

Is Shashoua being loaned from MLSNP? If so, I can understand why he is not used to seeing fans, lol

Yes, Shashoua is on loan from Minnesota, and most of his minutes have been in NextPro. Damus also had a hard time getting accustomed to it. He also got turned around out of the tunnel, and our young keeper practically dragged him back out to the pitch (although Heaps' presence may have been the deciding factor). So, it was a nice show of leadership from Delgado as well.

That was a tough one. I've never seen the players in such despair after a game. You mentioned MVO, but AJ Paterson was distraught, and he's always very personable. I saw players being turned around out of the tunnel, and it was the right thing, no matter how difficult. Something needs to change dramatically.
