The USL, United Soccer League, has announced that Texoma FC will play in the USL2 regular season for 2026. There is no current news about leaving the region or stadium.
Following the launch of a USL premier division in 2027-2028, USL would also be implementing a promotion-relegation system, meaning the choice is to self-relegate.
Texoma appreciates the support from the fans and are committed to ensuring the overall development of Soccer in the region and their team. More details to come in the following weeks regarding additional information.
Texoma prides itself on their youth programs and are hoping to ensure a clear pathway for development and success of their youth. So far the Texoma U12 boys team qualified for the Youth Finals in December, a spectacular achievement.
USL1 reports Texoma ownership is committed as well to the investment of League 1 play in North Texas. Some fans judge this statement by criticizing the decision to move down and what that means for League 1. Is there another North Texas team? There were rumors of a new Colin County team, however nothing seemed to come of that.
The decision to self-relegate is puzzling and brings many questions to the table; hopefully we will have answers soon, to bring the fans some ease after this devastating news.
