Despite a thrilling opening couple minutes and being down a man late, Tormenta came up short against defending USL1 champs Union Omaha. Within the first minute Tormenta had a chance to score the games 1st goal but would miss the net on two shots and Austin Pack would make a really nice save early in the game that looked like Tormenta would give Omaha a run for their money. Unfortunately Omaha would prevail in this match 3-1 over Tormenta.
Omaha would get their first goal in the 34th minute off a corner when Sergio Ors Navarro would get on the end of a header to put it in the back of the net, but Tormenta would score off an own goal just moments later off a corner of their own when Owusu would be the unfortunate victim of the ball bouncing off him and in the goal. That would be all that would happen for Tormenta positively as Omaha would score 2 goals in the second half, including a beautiful volley from Acoff in the 55th minute and Prepelita would receive a red card in the 87th minute, that would lead most fans questioning what happened as Tormenta was on the attack off a set piece and Prepelita was hit in the box by a Omaha defender.
Tormenta will have to have a short term memory to this match as they face Foro SC in the second round of the US Open Cup on Tuesday where they hope for a better result than this game. Their next league play game will be on Saturday April 5th when they travel to Chattanooga to face the Red Wolves.
