WPSL roster growth as CFC adds four more names
Youthful injection likely completes roster
Chattanooga FC has added four further names to its roster for the upcoming 2025 Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) season. Joining CFC are midfielders EG Dillard and Bella Valentine, plus forwards Ella Attaway and Grace Ambrose.
Midfielder Dillard, who plays college soccer for UT Chattanooga, earned SoCon All-Freshman Team honors during the 2024/2025 season. The Charleston, SC-native made seven appearances for the Mocs, contributing a goal and an assist.
Head Coach Juan Hernandez said that "EG brings phenomenal intensity and energy to the game. A remarkably versatile athlete, she contributes a high level of skill to the team. In her first season at UTC, she made an immediate impact, earning a well-deserved spot on the SoCon All-Freshman Team."
Forward Attaway is a fellow Mocs player and notched one goal and three appearances as a freshman for UTC last season. Hailing from the Atlanta suburb of Buford, she is a product of the Atlanta Fire academy.
"Ella is a young player with a lot of potential and a strong physical presence in attack," said Hernandez. "She demonstrates consistent quality in and around the box, making her a constant threat. This past fall, she gained valuable experience as a freshman at UTC and brings a solid club background, having competed in ECNL with Atlanta Fire."
Midfielder Valentine made 17 appearances and tallied two goals and one assist as captain for nearby Lee University in 2024. In 2023, Atascadero, CA-native scored one in 11 appearances and earned a spot on the Gulf South Conference Honor Roll in both years.
"Bella is a strong and dynamic midfielder who also brings strong leadership qualities from her time at Lee University," Hernandez said. "Her versatility allows her to excel in multiple positions across the midfield.”
Finally, Nigerian forward Ambrose joins having recently played for the Alcorn State University Braves, where she was named team MVP this past season.
"Grace is an extremely dynamic, versatile, and lethal forward in the final third," said Associate Head Coach Maryn Beutler. "Her 1v1 attacking, goalscoring abilities and her passion and enthusiasm to play at the highest level sets her apart."
The club also recently announced a new Girls’ and Womens’ Player Pathway, bringing two tiers of development from U8 all the way to WPSL and women’s senior soccer.
CFC’s season kicks off on May 23 when it takes on the UFA Gunners at Finley Stadium at 7pm. You can read the Southeast Soccer Report’s Season Preview for Chattanooga’s WPSL campaign HERE.
